Soundwave was still monitoring Ravage, but he was then left in his thoughts as he is uncertain if trusting Jasper was a good idea and whether if acquiring the new gem is the idea from Megatron or Jasper acting through Galvatron.
Meanwhile, Galvatron was alone in a room
"Jasper, are you sure this idea of yours will work?" the Megatron side of Galvatron says.
" Trust me, this gem might not like seeing you at first let alone me, but if we give her a good enough reason she'll listen." Jasper says.
Shockwave then enters the room.
"Galvatron, you may want to see this." Shockwave says.
Galvatron follows shockwave to the bridge where soundwave was monitoring ravage's progress.
"Ravage has found a possible way for us to reach this gem" Soundwave says
"Excellent. Now we must secure his way out. Soundwave you will go to earth and deploy laser beak and rat bat to rendezvous with ravage. once he acquires the gem, they will cover his escape and return to you so you can return here with the gem. Under no circumstance will you allow the bubble securing the gem to pop." Galvatron says
"Yes Lord Galvatron, Laserbeak, Ratbat, eject." Soundwave says ejecting the two flying robots

Galvatron leaves to begin planning for the next phase of his plan. Before soundwave could follow, shockwave steps in front of him "sound wave may I speak with you for a moment." He looks around, " in private." Sound wave agrees and follows him into a secure room.
"What is it Shockwave?" Soundwave says while Laserbeak and Ratbat fly out
"I know that when it comes to loyalty to Megatron there is no else like you. Which is why I have faith in you with what I have to say." Shockwave says, a drop of hesitation in his voice.
"What is it?" Soundwave asks while starting to record their conversation, unknown to Shockwave
"I believe that the gem is manipulating Megatron through their fusion," Shockwave starts to explain, " I know this sounds like paranoia, but we both know from experience the depths of treachery that gems are capable of. So, it seems reasonable to assume that this 'jasper' has an ulterior motive to joining forces with us."
"I understand your concern; I will talk to him." Soundwave says
"I hope you do. But I also want you to understand that I told you this not because I doubt Megatron's strength nor his intellect regarding this plan, but to reaffirm him that I all I do and believe is not only for the good of the Decepticons, but for him as our true leader." Soundwave nods at this, turns to leave, but not before shockwave adds," so I hope that you trust me in my suspicions just as you did those millions of years ago during the conflict with the gems."
Soundwave enters the room Galvatron was in
Soundwave notices Galvatron speaking to himself, yet it seems like two voices are talking to one another. He thinks about what shockwave said before he interrupts Galvatron.
(Flashback)
He thinks back to about the middle of the Cybertronian war
Soundwave accelerates down the main road way from Kaon, the Decepticon capital on Cybertron, to rendezvous with Shockwave, Thundercracker, and the Combatacons.
Soundwave stops at the rendezvous point to meet them
Shockwave and Thundercracker walk towards soundwave to meet him while onslaught calls out for his Combatacons and the other Decepticon troops to group up on their position.
"What is the reason you called Shockwave?" Soundwave asks
Shockwave steps into the center of the group, who form a semi-circle around him. "Lord Megatron has assigned all of us for a new mission, one that he believes could aide us in preparing for a full-scale invasion of Iacon." Hearing the name of the Autobots capital and a chance to take it peaks the interests of everyone in the group.
"What is this plan?" Soundwave says
Shockwave activates a holo-projector from his single optical lens, showing the layout of the battle field. "As you can see from this map, the Autobots have established an outpost 20 kilometers from our capital to monitor Kaon's activities. Because of this we are incapable of launching an operation against the Autobots without them alerting their forces at the target locations."
"hey Shockwave, if I way, the other seekers and I have been finding these strange ships just floating around." Thundercracker says
"Yes Megatron is also aware of unidentified spacecraft around Cybertron's orbit and it is very likely that the Autobots have as well, which leads to the second objective of this attack." Shockwave begins to mark the map, "soundwave and I will infiltrate the outpost to gather intelligence concerning what the Autobots know about these unidentifiable spacecraft."
"why not just send us see what the ship is?" Swindle says
Shockwave explains, "because until we know more about these craft and what their purpose is, our focus remains on giving us an advantage over the Autobots at any cost. Besides, one craft is hovering just above the outpost, meaning that they are either damaged and have stopped over the outpost to make repairs or they could already have contacted the Autobots. Either way, the outpost must go."
"exactly, so that's why we are here, Swindle will take out the shield generator, Thundercracker will distract the patrols, Blast-off and Vortex will take out the cannons of the outpost, Brawl and I will take out the turrets. Then we form Bruticus and destroy any remaining defenses, leaving Shockwave and Soundwave a clear path to head inside." Onslaught says.
Soundwave approaches, to add some notes "It could take some time to enter the outpost if they are on alert during the attack, and even more time once we get inside and start the download while defending ourselves from any soldiers." Shockwave nods in agreement, adding "Soundwave is right, if we are seen entering during the start of the battle, they will tighten the defenses inside the base to prevent our arrival and use that time to wipe their computers of data. So, I propose that we proceed with your battle plan onslaught, but it will act as a distraction for the Autobots. While you have their forces tied up, soundwave and I will infiltrate from below through the maintenance pipes and proceed into the base from there. once the defenses are down, the Combatacons will lead our remaining forces into the outpost and rendezvous with us, from there we will form a perimeter around the ship and mount a recon mission into it." Once shockwave was finished he turned the map off and proceeded to remain silent to answer any questions.
"Got it. Combatacons, move out!" The Combatacons move out as well as Thundercracker
"Shockwave even with these changes, we still face a 58.78 % chance of encountering heavy resistance." shockwave looks at one of his oldest allies, understanding the odds, "that is why we will be working together on this mission for both of us have enough fire power to handle any resistance inside. plus, your personal minions will give us an extra advantage."
Soundwave and Shockwave wait for the Combaticons to do their part
As they stare out at the expanse of Cybertron, the quiet sets in and in a way, it almost looks peaceful. "There is no one else I would have chosen to join me on this mission than you Soundwave." Shockwave adds. Soundwave turns to him in silence as shockwave continues "you are incredibly loyal and a skilled warrior as well as a brilliant technical expert. That is why I trust you. Why I might need your help." This comment breaks soundwave' silence "how so?" Shockwave turns his attention up to the unknown ship in Cybertron's high atmosphere.
"I believe that this ship may be an unknown alien race, possibly trying to scout out our planet." Shockwave says
Soundwave continued to listen as shockwave made explained his suspicions. The fact that it might be an alien race is not unknown to Cybertronians as intersystem commerce was a common practice between Cybertron and its neighboring planets, that is before the war started which had forced those planets and many more systems to halt all commerce with them until the war was over. So, seeing another alien race appear now when the war was at its worst was indeed odd.
"The thing is, I have seen ships like these before, but none this close to Cybertron." Shockwave says
As Soundwave hears shockwave say this he runs a search in his database for a match on the craft to one on file. The search found nothing.
"For cycles I have been wondering what these ships could be and why they are here, then I found this symbol." Shockwave shows Soundwave a holo-image of shake consisting of four diamonds, each one a different color.
"Four diamonds placed in a rhombohedral shape each of a different color showing a possible structure of importance for each one." Soundwave finished his evaluation of the symbol. "This does not match any possible symbol of a former commercial partner to Cybertron or a race known to Cybertron."
"Exactly, that is why I need you to trust me when I say this, I need you to tell Megatron about this possible threat."
"What evidence do you have to indicate that it could be hostile?"
"Every spy drone I have sent to investigate the ship has been destroyed."
Soundwave looks towards the ship, thinking on Shockwave's words. "Do you believe the craft is there for repairs or that they chose to orbit there intentionally?"
"It must be doing it intentionally, since it has not landed once." Shockwave says
"Given this evidence and that you have asked me to deliver any evidence we find to lord Megatron directly, I will agree with your suspicions and aide you on this mission." Just as Soundwave finished his sentence, a large explosion goes off. The Combatacons' signal.
"Come on, let's go." Shockwave runs off
Soundwave looks out at the battle once more, then at the spacecraft above, and follows Shockwave into the maintenance pipes towards the outpost.
"I see you have noticed the ship is following us." Shockwave says.
He notices the front of the ship begin to point in their direction. 'So the unknown aliens know that the attack is a diversion and have kept their focus on us the entire time. Impressive.' Sound wave thinks to himself.
Shockwave continued running. While they ran, they heard the battle over their communication channel "This is Thundercracker! Their air defenses are tearing us apart up here; we need back up! Vortex, blast off what is the hold up? Just take down the guns and get up here!"
"We're working on it; Swindle is still taking down the shields!" Vortex said.
"Onslaught, enemy troops have fortified the forward turrets and sweep 14 just reported a line of Autobot heavies coming in from the northwest and inbound on our position." Brawl said.
"Enough of this! Combaticons! Form Bruticus!" Onslaught says.
"onslaught be careful! If you form Bruticus you could destroy the whole facility before we get inside! So, if you form Bruticus, then use it to lore their forces away from the outpost, which will give us an opportunity to get into the lower levels." Shockwave says.
"Got it." Onslaught replies
The Combatacons begin to combine to form Bruticus. "Muahahah! Prepare to die Autobots!" Bruticus roars as he charges into battle. Meanwhile, shockwave and Soundwave finally reach the lower maintenance door.
Shockwave opens it.
"The data room shouldn't be far from here."
Before they enter, Soundwave moves to deploy Lazerbeak, "Lazerbeak eject. Operation: reconnaissance." Lazerbeak quietly deploys and flies ahead of them to scout the area.
Shockwave watches as Laserbeak flies off. Soundwave watches video feed of Lazerbeak's progress as he moves deeper into the facility.
"Any obstacles so far?" Shockwave asks
Soundwave sees Lazerbeak enter the main server room, "negati-" Lazerbeak catches a glimpse of something before the feed cuts out.
"What happened?"
"Unknown interference in the signal. Lazerbeak not responding."
"Looking for this?" Said an Autobot holding Laserbeak.
"The name's Mirage, and you two are going down."
Autobot soldiers appeared behind Mirage to aide him in apprehending the two intruders. As they open fire, shockwave and Soundwave fall back behind the cover of the door.
Shockwave transformers into a giant gun and shoots a sonic blast
The Autobots dive for cover and mirage drops Lazerbeak on the ground, immobile and seemingly unresponsive. "Frenzy, ravage, rumble eject! Operation: rescue!" Soundwave commands. Shockwave hesitates for a second, surprised at both the command and the tone of Soundwave' voice. It sounded...concerned.
Shockwave fires his arm cannon, blasting Mirage in the shoulder
"Captain!" An Autobot soldier shouts and rushes to his side. "I'm fine. Maintain your position!" As mirage begins to rise and head for cover he receives another transmission. An expression of shock hits his face. "Fall back! Everyone fallback to the hanger!" One soldier turns to him, "What about the server?" He asks. "We can clean it out at another auxiliary station. Just head for the hanger!" Mirage yells as he and the others retreat into the adjacent corridor.
"They are retreating." Shockwave says
Soundwave says nothing. Shockwave turns to see why he did not respond and sees Soundwave crouched over Lazerbeak, fixing him while his three other soldiers stand guard covering his position. Shockwave stands in complete dismay at the sight.
Shockwave walks past Soundwave and continues to his destination and enters the mainframe room and begins to hack through firewalls. He download all of the data, before Mirage grabbed him from behind.
"Not so fast con." He fought shockwave to avoid his hand cannon. Shockwave tossed him into the opposite doorway. Shockwave then turned to the door Mirage came from to find Soundwave arrive. They hear the door close where Mirage was, the gears turning to lock the door. Soundwave approaches the door and examines it. "He has locked the door." Shockwave activates his comms. "Combatacons do not let their captain escape!" The response was immediate. "We're a little busy right now, it's going to be a nanocycle." Frenzy points to the screen, "I think that won't work." The screen shows Mirage enter an old sub train and leave right when a barrage of unknown laser fire passes through the air where the train was.
"Scrap, so now what?" Rumble says.
"We have the data and we have started to secure the outpost. Now we just have to..." immediately shockwave was interrupted by Thundercracker over the comms, "shockwave, Soundwave come in we need help out here quick!"
"What's wrong?" Shockwave asks.
"The unknown ship...its launching drones, fighters, I don't know! And they are engaging us from all sides!" Hearing this, shockwave contacts the Combatacons "Vortex, blast off get up there and help Thundercracker."
Soundwave and his minions try to get the door open.
"It won't budge!" Frenzy tried to wedge the door open but to no avail. "Rumble don't you think you can...oh I don't know. Break open the door with your pile drivers?!"
"Oh yeah *chuckles* forgot about those." Rumble turns his arms into pounders and starts pounding the door
Then the door buckles.... inward. "Hey not bad. Did Soundwave upgrade your tech?" Rumble in half awe struck half terrified shock only stared at the door. "That...*gulp* wasn't me."
The Decepticons prepare for a fight for whatever was on the other end of the door
Bang, bang, bang! With each hit, the door continues to buckle under the pressure. Soundwave deploys all his troops, except for Laserbeak. Then the banging stops and the silence just hangs in the air. Frenzy, as always, breaks the silence, "Maybe it gave up?"
Then, an Autobot heavy soldier is thrown through the door.
"Need help?"
"Affirmative." Soundwave says upon seeing their ally. "Shockwave come in! Answer the comm slag it!" Thundercracker yells over the comm.
"Yes Thundercracker, what is it?" Shockwave says.
"If you don't mind me speaking freely: 1) we are being overwhelmed up here, 2) the ship is descending orbit, and 3) they have what appears to be landing craft descending towards your position. So, you might want to prepare for a fight."
"Thundercracker, go to the nearest base, and get reinforcements then!"
"Alright, I will go as fast as possible, but I would recommend setting up defenses immediately to hold them off. Thundercracker out."
The Decepticons start to set up defenses.
As the final defenses are put in place, shockwave meets up with onslaught and Soundwave to go over an effective strategy.
"Alright Decelticons, prepare to defend."
On that order Onslaught begins giving orders, "Brawl you, me and the other heavies will remain in the outpost to provide artillery fire for the troops; vortex and blast off will lead what remains of our sweeps and provide air support; swindle will command our soldiers directly from the cover on our frontline. Alright everyone let's see what these aliens are made of."
"Yes sir!" The Combaticons say as they move out.
The enemy Landing craft touch down 5 kilometers away. Shockwave takes up a position in a gap in the main observation deck, transforming into a giant plasma gun, while brawl and Onslaught transform into their twin cannon tank and flatbed missile truck. Vortex and blast off take off to lead the sweeps in a defensive pattern. "Alright Decepticons, remember do not fire until you have a clear target." Swindle informs his troops.
"Where is it?" Rumble says.
Frenzy: "where's what?" Rumble replies, "my blaster I know I put it somewhere." Frenzy just rolls his optics "you probably left it down by the main hard drive."
Then, a group of flying drones appear.
"Heads up here they come!" Vortex announces over the main channel. Blast off and the remaining sweeps then follow close behind to engage the drones.
The drones fire on them. The group split up to acquire individual targets. As the aerial battle ensues, the landing forces come into visual range of the outpost.
"What are these things?"
He stares in confusion as he sees an army of little red creatures charging forward, hollering a battle cry of sorts. "Did they send children to fight us?" One Decepticon soldier asked.
"Guess that means they'll be easy to take down."
Then, out of nowhere, five of them jump on top of each other in a weird pattern and in a bright light they become a giant version of the little ones. This was repeated six more times. "Or not." Swindle says, regretting his previous statement. The Decepticons immediately begin to open fire.
Rumble manages to jump on top of it and start pounding
"Rumble how did you do that? And weren't you down in the hard drive room?" Frenzy asked.
Rumbled replied “Thanks and about how I got here, well it was quite the adventure but that is for another time!"
Frenzy opens fire on the giant red being. Soon the rest of the frontline troops open fire on the unknown enemy soldiers. Larger enemy combatants appear behind the smaller ones, these varying in color from blue and purple to oranges and shades of pink.
"What are these things?!" Swindle yelled.
"Dust" brawl replied as he began an artillery barrage onto the enemy position.
"Good thing these things ain't that durable." Frenzy said
Just then the comms announced a new problem, “Shockwave we have more enemy units coming from the west."
"Contact the nearest Decepticon base, now!"
"Shockwave this is Thundercracker. I am inbound with sky warp, break down and the constructions with reinforcements. ETA 10 millicycles.".
"At this rate, don't think we'll survive this long." Swindle mumbled.
One of the larger attackers jumps into the trench, attacking Decepticons left and right.
"Keep fighting!" Onslaught shouted.
The enemy, a large muscular figure with wild violet hair, purple skin, a dark purple and black uniform, and a large purple stone on their abdomen, picks up a soldier by his arm and leg tossing him into a nearby power relay exploding in a shower of sparks, flames and twisted metal.
Onslaught runs to the enemy and tackles it. He throws a forceful right hook into the side of the large warrior, who blocks it and moves to deliver a roundhouse to Onslaught's shoulder, narrowly missing his head. Onslaught pulls out a gun and start shooting at it. It dodged one, two, three blasts. The enemy soldier grabs him around the throat. Onslaught tried to break free but to no avail. He then aims into its gut, fires, and grazed the stone on its abdomen. It drops him and falls to one knee. It was wounded. Onslaught fired the remainder of the charge into the stone. The stone seemed the shatter when the blast hit it.
The warrior, wide eyed in horror and disbelief, exploded into a cloud of smoke and the stone shards were the only thing left. "The stone..." Onslaught muttered in disbelief, then over the comms he announced their new enemy's weakness, "The stone is their weakness! Destroy the stone on their body!"
"Yeah well that's easier said than done with some of these." Swindle yelled as he kept firing his weapon.
Swindle's current target had no stone anywhere on its front, which means that it was somewhere on its back. Just his luck.
"This one I'm fighting f had several stones, which one do I attack?"
"Who cares, just destroy them all and then get back to the front!" Swindle shouted as he tried to get a good angle on the stone of his current target.
Rumble started pounding on the stones. One of the stones begins to crack, then out of nowhere the large warrior changes into a figure of light and dispersed into six of the small red warriors, one of them badly injured, flickering out of focus. "Couldn't handle the quakes? Well let's see if you can handle the aftershocks."
Rumble pounds the ground, causing it to shake. The small soldiers try to get to their feet, the shakes occurring all over the battlefield. The injured one having the most difficulty struggled the most.
"Not so tough now are ya?!" Rumble says.
The injured soldier glares at rumble, malice burning in its eyes. "Hehe...yeah, that was a bad joke I guess, he-he" rumble says, laughing nervously.
Frenzy start shooting.
"You know Rumble, maybe you should spend less time talking, more time fighting."
"Shut up!" Just as rumble remarked to Frenzy's comment, the red soldier lunges for Rumble. Rumble falls back in shock launching his right pile driver square into the tiny Berzerker's body.
Rumble tries to get the worrier off him.
Rumble tosses him into a nearby wall, and uses his pile drivers to try to collapse the wall.
The wall crumbles and falls on the worrier.
good riddance." while rumble managed to remove his problem, the other Decepticons were not fairing as well. "this is Brawl, we have enemy troops getting closer to our artillery position and we need backup. Vortex do you think you can give us some air support on this?"
" On my way.”
Vortex transformers and flies off
As vortex gets closer to Brawl's position he fires upon the enemy position creating more space for Brawl and his heavies to continue to support their troops on the front.
"How long more until the backup!?" Swindle says
A second wave of enemy troops begins to move upon their position from the landing zone, "you just had to open your big mouth!' Frenzy exclaimed in frustration. A large explosion appeared around the area of the enemy landing zone. "well...that is convenient." Onslaught says.
Decepticon ships start flying into the area of the outpost.
at the head of the reinforcements was Thundercracker and Sky Warp hitting landing craft before they reached their objectives. devastator appeared behind the enemy line, destroying any craft that had already deployed enemy warriors into the field. Break down accelerated into the fray leading the Decepticon troops into the heart of the heart of the enemy line.
"Reinforcements have arrived, speculation: safe to leave tunnel of outpost." Soundwave says.
"very well. Inform Onslaught that he and the Combatacons are in command." Shockwave and soundwave begin to leave when they receive a message from someone more menacing than the new unknown enemy. "Shockwave, Soundwave report!" They tense up at the mere sound of this voice, and both respond immediately "Lord Megatron!"
"Data from outpost secured, lord Megatron." Soundwave says,
"Excellent work. Now both of you return immediately." Megatron commanded.
Soundwave and Shockwave run off.
"I expect a full report on this mission and on these aliens. There are reports of these aliens attacking all over Cybertron. they are even giving the Autobots trouble and while I don't mind the Autobots having trouble, this could interfere with our overall war strategy." The comms was then switched off.
(Back to the present)
"Lord Galvatron." Soundwave says.
"I believe I ordered you to follow Laserbeak and rat bat to go to earth to retrieve ravage." Galvatron said, not turning to look Soundwave in the optics.
"Constriction." Soundwave plays his recording of Galvatron saying to send Laserbeak and Ratbat to escort Ravage.
Galvatron tenses for a moment as the recording ends. "Ah of course, my mistake." This 'mistake' does not go unnoticed by Soundwave. "Well? Anything else you wish to tell me?"
"I wish to speak to Megatron, alone." Soundwave says in his typical dead pan voice.
Galvatron turned around to face Soundwave, a look that was inquisitive in nature but resonated menace. "Why?"
"Reasons that do not concern the gem."
Galvatron stares at Soundwave, thinking to himself. Soundwave watches the movement of his optics, tracking what might be a conversation in Galvatron's mind.
Galvatron glows, and splits into the beings of Jasper and Megatron.
"Don't take too long." Jasper says, storming out of the room.
"Lord Megatron, there are concerns that this gem, might be manipulating you."
"Is that so, and what evidence do you have to support these accusations that I am being easily manipulated by a weaker class of warrior?" Megatron asks as he slowly approaches Soundwave, the tension increasing by the second.
"Megatron! I have great news!" Shockwave says bursting in
"Very well, elaborate." Megatron says, while soundwave silently thanks primus for shockwave's perfect timing.
"Ever since I left Cybertron, I activated a radar in one of my labs to detect any more Deceptions, as it turns out, there is a secret Autobot prison containing hundreds, possibly thousands of Decepticons."
Megatron's face twists into a villainous smirk at the thought of a new army. "Are you certain of this Shockwave?" "Without a doubt." Shockwave says with a very confident tone. Megatron begins to laugh to himself " Ha-ha, well then it seems we have found the next phase in our plan to remove the Autobots and the rebel gems. Soundwave as soon as you have completed your current mission is over, you will rendezvous with Shockwave and seek out this possible prison and return with any of our fellow Decepticons to bolster our ranks." With their new orders both of Megatron's most loyal followers respond as one "As you command lord Megatron."
"Lord Megatron, if I may, perhaps it would be best if you joined me on this quest, it is more likely those Decepticons will listen to you than the two of us." Shockwave says
Megatron thinks this over. "Perhaps you are right shockwave. Very well, Soundwave you are in charge until I return with shockwave."
"As you command Megatron." Soundwave says, Jasper heard this
"Wait. Why is the radio put in charge while you’re gone? In fact, why are you going without me?" Jasper asks storming into the room.
"The Decepticons there will not recognize Galvatron, they will recognize and listen to Megatron, and Soundwave is Megatron's second in command." Shockwave says looking down in Jasper
Jasper glares at the Cybertronian cyclops, but relents to shockwave's logic. "Fine."
"Very well, Megatron and I will take the constrictions to Cybertron." Shockwave says
"Also lord Megatron, I checked my lab records, if you wish, I can re activate project Terricon." Shockwave also says
"Excellent Shockwave. This will be a very productive mission." Megatron says as they leave the room and prepare for their departure.
Jasper just stares at Soundwave.
Soundwave just stares back, saying nothing. He then turns to leave for the bridge.
